FAQs
You only pay for the chip: the app is free and each work takes one NFC chip. Between €7 and €10 per work depending on the pack, from 5 chips for €50 to 50 for €350. You'll find them under Pricing.
From the Aurea app. Upload photos of the work, add its details and scan the chip, which is small and goes where it isn't seen, such as the back of the canvas or the base of a sculpture. Scanning it binds the certificate to the work.
Everything a paper one has, and what paper can't hold. The work's identity, with title, description and photos. Its history, with every change of owner. And how it must be handled for exhibition, transport, conservation and restoration.
It's worth what it can prove, and this one proves more than paper. It's bound to the work by an encrypted chip, carries your identity as the issuer and records every owner. Any collector can check with their phone, no app needed, that it's the one you issued.
The certificate transfers to the new owner and the record updates. You're notified every time the work changes hands. You can also set a resale commission in the certificate; collecting it automatically on each resale is coming to Aurea.
On a painting, on the back of the canvas. On any other work, in a safe spot, free of pressure and within reach of a phone to scan it. It's a 2×2 cm sticker, with a different glue for smooth and rough surfaces.
Yes, each has its own version. There's a chip with ferrite for metal, a 2.2×2.5 cm label for textiles and another for outdoors. There are also chips to embed inside the piece.
The owner reports it from the app and you get a notification to approve the new chip, so no one can replace it without you.
By email, with a link. Opening it creates their Aurea account and the certificate becomes theirs. To verify the work they need neither an app nor an account, just their phone.
Yes. Verifying only records the time, the approximate location and the type of device. Personal data is only collected if the collector creates an account, with their consent, and it is stored in the EU.
Yes, together with its current owner. Write to us and we'll coordinate it, by sending them the chip or through a verifier.
